Summer Camp

South Mountain Baptist Camp exists to develop young disciples who will be effective in spreading Christ throughout the world.  Our children’s camps are just one of the tools we use to equip these young people with a firm foundation.  Each camper starts the day by spending time with Jesus and a quiet time booklet provided by the camp.  Campers also go to age-appropriate Bible Study each morning, where they learn about the Bible in creative and fun ways.  Recreation is also part of a camper’s morning; this is a time to release some energy, be a kid, and maybe learn a little bit of team work.  Campers go to Chapel twice a day for a dynamic speaker who shares the gospel in a kid-friendly way.  Afternoons are filled with fun activities and some R&R.  Our hope is not only to show Jesus to your children, but also to do this in ways they will remember and share with others for a lifetime.

Children’s Camps

Our children’s camps have been designed for those who have just completed the 1st through 6th grades.  Our chapel speakers have been gifted with storytelling, illusions, and other creative ways to share the gospel in a meaningful way your children will remember!

Coed Camps

Coed camps have been set aside for 1st through 12th grade students.  These camps were designed with churches who need or want to bring all ages to one week of camp.  Coed camp is set up similarly to children’s camp, but also includes programming for your older students.  Chapel speakers on these weeks have been gifted with messages that will be clear and engaging to those who are 5, 15 or 50!

Girls or Boys Camp

These camps are open to those who have completed the 1st through 12th grades.  This week allows children and youth to experience camp with other campers of the same gender.

Youth Mission Camp

Youth enjoy Bible Study and Recreation in the morning, just like our other camps.   They are also offered hands-on experiences.  Youth choose an area of service they are interested in, are divided into work groups, and go out into the community.  Each work group will be made up of youth and adults from different churches, with at least two people from a church together. Work projects are usually in the Morganton or Hickory area and have included:  building handicapped ramps, work in clothes closets, serving at food distribution centers or homeless shelters, and completing projects around the camp.
